On Monday, Greece experienced generally clear skies with only occasional cloud coverage, mainly in the northeastern and southern parts of the country. Despite a slight increase in temperature, the overall weather maintained its winter chill, particularly during the early morning hours when frost was reported in northern regions.
The forecast, as provided by the National Meteorological Service, indicated that visibility could be limited in mainland areas during the morning and evening. This is due to the persistent, albeit mild, winterweather conditions.
Winds across Greece were predominantly from northern directions. In the Ionian Sea, the mainland, and northern Aegean, wind speeds ranged between 3 to 5 on the Beaufort scale, whereas the central and southern Aegean saw winds gusting at 5 to 7, and occasionally reaching up to 8 Beaufort in southeastern areas during the morning.
The temperatures displayed a modest ascent, especially in maximum values across most regions. Northern areas saw highs between 12 to 13 degrees Celsius, with central mainland and Aegean temperatures reaching 15 to 16 degrees. On the western side, some places recorded local highs around 17 degrees Celsius.
In Macedonia and Thrace, the weather stayed mainly clear. Eastern Macedonia and Thrace experienced transitory cloudiness that cleared by afternoon, while western and central Macedonia were generally sunny.
In regions like the Ionian Islands, Epirus, Western Sterea, and the western Peloponnese, conditions were mainly sunny. Here, winds were moderate, coming from northern to northwestern directions.
The eastern Sterea, Euboea, and eastern Peloponnese also enjoyed mostly sunny weather, though Euboea saw occasional clouds. Meanwhile, winds picked up slightly in the afternoon over eastern sections.
Cyclades and Crete experienced mostly sunny skies with sporadic cloud build-ups in the afternoon, primarily over Crete. Winds here continued to be robust, particularly over the eastern Cyclades and Crete.
The islands of the eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese enjoyed fair weather, with the Dodecanese experiencing stronger winds. Northeast areas had patchy clouds earlier in the day, giving way to clearer skies by midday.
Thessaly remained largely sunny, with a gentle breeze shifting gradually from the north to northeast, indicating stable weather patterns typical for this time of year.
